Shopping and Eating Out

Many of the Border Towns are very pretty and are great as a base for a day out. There are plenty of independent shops and galleries to browse as well as walks along rivers, lovely restaurants and cafes and other places of interest such as Priorwood Garden in Melrose or Robert Smail’s Printing Works and St Ronan's Spa in Innerleithen

The Cross Keys in Ettrick Bridge is our local pub and is very warm and welcoming with great food and atmosphere. The Gordons Arms is also close-by, with a drive further along the shore of St Mary's Loch taking you to the Tibbie Shiels Inn which is great for a Sunday lunch. Watch out for live music sessions at both of these pubs. See below for more ideas of places to eat.
